Blogging Guidelines

The state of Washington has created Technology EALRs (Essential Academic Learning Requirements) or standards to help give teachers a road map for teaching students technology skills.

EALR 2 states that...
Students demonstrate a clear understanding of technology systems and operations and practice safe, legal and ethical behavior.

To help students learn to practice safe, ethical and legal behavior and in accordance with Tahoma's Electronic Resources User Agreement we will use the following guidelines on our blog.

We will only use first names on our blog. If you are a family member or friend of a student please identify yourself as Johnny's Grandma or Suzy's Aunt.

All comments will be monitored by Ms. Morlock to make sure that they are in accordance with the district User Agreement and that they are appropriate for our learning environment.

We will also follow our main classroom rule, EVERYONE should be treated with respect, while using the blog.

Another goal of our blog is to show off our best writing skills. In order to do our best writing we will make sure that we do not use text speak or conversational language. We will also make sure that we proofread before we publish our posts. We hope that you will model excellent writing skills when you respond to our writing too.
